Curriculum
We are a National Ministry of Education accredited preschool that provides a nurturing atmosphere for 4-6 year olds; we cultivate young imaginations and establish self-confidence. Our program, which focuses on the six areas of learning from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, gives clear guidance for learning based upon developmentally appropriate practices. We have further adapted the program to fit the needs of all of our children.
6 Areas of Learning
Personal social and emotional development
Our main aim in EdukaKids is to develop a positive sense of self and of others; respect for others; social skills; and a positive disposition. We ensure support for children’s emotional well-being to help them to know themselves and what they can do. In all aspects of their lives we will be giving them the best opportunity for success and the feeling of being valued.
Language and communication development
One of our key areas in our curriculum is language, our goal is for our children to be able to listen and communicate in different languages. Language is developed through play and exploring through our daily activities. In EdukaKids we are preparing the right environment for your children to become confident speakers and listeners.
Numeracy and reasoning
It is important to us that children begin their early years enjoying numbers, shapes and measuring by interaction in their surroundings. Children are encouraged to develop their understanding of Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy in a wide variety of contexts in which they can explore, enjoy, learn and practice. Our purpose is to teach mathematics in a meaningful and fun way which leaves your children with a positive attitude to learning.
Knowledge and understanding of the world
Children need opportunities to gather information to satisfy their curiosity. We achieve this through offering opportunities for them to use a range of tools safely; encounter creatures, people, plants and objects in their natural environments and in real-life situations like trips. Here at EdukaKids we encourage our children to be curious, inquisitorial and be enthusiastic about their environment. This develops their knowledge, skills and understanding that help them to make sense of the world. We feel we accomplish this through our careful consideration in creating and developing our surroundings.
Physical development
Young children’s physical development progresses through being active and interactive. The children are encouraged in developing an understanding of the importance of physical activity and making healthy choices in relation to food. At EdukaKids we feel that we have created a well-planned curriculum and a healthy learning environment, providing opportunities for regular and frequent physical activities indoors and outdoors.
Creative development
We give our children the best opportunity for successful creative development. We have a spacious area which has been designated to art and creating topic based projects. This will give the children the space and time to explore experiment, share their thoughts, ideas and feelings, for instance, through a variety of art, music, movement, dance, imaginative and role-play activities, mathematics, and design and technology. Our aim is for our children to explore experiment, create with all kinds of resources and materials and have lots of fun.
